ABOUT US

Autistic owned and operated — built on “nothing about us, without us”

Ten Foot Training is a UK-based educational consultancy founded by Alistair Barfield, with over a decade of experience working in education. We specialise in autistic young people’s online experiences, because that is our personal and professional background.

Our training isn’t dry or boring. It’s story-driven, candid and genuinely funny — clients describe our sessions as “inspiring, funny and useful”. We strip away the tech panic and the corporate fluff, and leave your community with knowledge they can actually use.

‍ ‍Bespoke sessions tailored to your school — never one-size-fits-all

‍ ‍Whole-day bookings include 1-to-1 chats and safeguarding advice

‍ ‍Free follow-up emails and assistance after every session

OUR OFFER

Three sessions. One whole-community approach.

Book a single session, or book a whole day and we’ll deliver all three — plus 1-to-1 student chats and safeguarding advice while we’re with you.

  • A classroom scene with students seated at desks facing a teacher at the blackboard. One student has raised a hand. The blackboard displays handwritten notes: 'If Someone in Your Family Has Cancer.' Students are paying attention, some looking at the teacher and others at their work.

    FOR STAFF

    Staff Digital Safeguarding Briefing

An authoritative, fast-paced CPD session that demystifies algorithmic risks and modern digital harms — leaving your team equipped to meet the latest KCSIE compliance mandates with confidence.

  • A woman with a red plaid jacket looking at her phone at a train station during sunset.

    FOR STUDENTS

    Media Literacy Masterclass

A high-energy session that pulls back the curtain on how social media algorithms capture attention — turning students from passive consumers into critical thinkers who control their own feeds.

  • A man carrying two young girls on his shoulders through a field of red poppies, with a child walking in the distance under a tree on a cloudy day.

    FOR PARENTS & CARERS

    The “No-Panic” Parent Workshop

A refreshingly witty, story-driven session that strips away tech panic — helping families replace screen-time shouting matches with sustainable, positive digital habits at home.
