Discussion of drugs in pop culture is nothing new; whether that’s the Beatles referencing ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ or the infinite list of ‘lean’-adjacent media from the ‘dirty South’, drug references have been a facet of mainstream culture for a long time.
However, what we’re starting to see is a completely different relationship, one that is framed entirely as a form of self-improvement.
